CONSISTENT IN PROMOTING INDONESIAN CULTURE, ARKADIA WORKS WINS ASIA PACIFIC PROPERTY AWARDS FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Indonesian design has once again garnered positive recognition on the international stage at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2024. This year, Arkadia Works has secured an award, adding to its streak of victories in this prestigious competition organized by an international property media based in London, United Kingdom. This accolade marks the fourth consecutive year Arkadia Works has triumphed, underscoring its consistent excellence amid fierce competition in the Asia Pacific region.

The 2024 award was presented for Arkadia Works’ project titled ‘Digital Future of Nusantara’, which won in the ‘Office Interior Indonesia’ category. The award ceremony took place on May 30, 2024, at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Thailand.

Arkadia Works’ winning design showcases a dynamic and modern office for BDx, a provider of data center and hybrid computing solutions with locations in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and Indonesia. The design uniquely integrates elements of Indonesian cultural heritage, blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary functionality.

The design prominently features traditional Indonesian fabric patterns such as Kain Ulos from North Sumatra, Songket Pucuk Rebung from Palembang, and Tenun Tanimbar from Maluku, applied to the sandblasted glass partitions. Additionally, Javanese antique chairs, batik-patterned cushion covers, roster partitions, and rattan chairs and lamps enrich the space with a distinctly Indonesian ambiance.

Through these elements, Arkadia Works not only enhances the visual appeal but also preserves and promotes local culture amidst the wave of modernization and globalization. The firm’s designs celebrate Indonesian cultural values, earning both domestic and international acclaim and demonstrating the universal appeal and significance of the archipelago’s heritage.

This year’s award-winning project complements Arkadia Works’ previous thematic designs: ‘The Eclectic of Yogyakarta’ in 2021, ‘Tales of Batik’ in 2022, and ‘Dance in Diversity’ in 2023. Each project underscores the firm’s dedication to incorporating cultural narratives into modern design.

Reflecting on this success, Arkadia Works’ CEO, Wiza Hidayat, participated as a speaker in the expert panel discussion session, becoming the only representative for Indonesian companies at this esteemed event. “Good design is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it should also consider function, health, technology, and inclusivity to improve the quality of life of the users of the space,” Wiza remarked during the session.

The Asia Pacific Property Awards is a highly respected annual event celebrating excellence in architecture, interiors, real estate, and property development. In 2024, the event saw over 400 entries from across the Asia Pacific region, with more than 500 guests and industry leaders in attendance.

Arkadia Works’ latest accolade at the Asia Pacific Property Awards reaffirms its position as a leader in innovative and culturally rich design, setting a high standard for the industry and continuing to showcase the richness of Indonesian heritage on a global platform.
